What’s this?

In 1936 Wisconsin, Evie dreams of becoming a reporter like her hero, Nellie Bly. When she’s accepted into the Wisconsin Folklore Project, she sees her chance to make her mark and escape the safe future her family expects. When Evie arrives at her family’s remote cabin, she finds a community haunted by more than hard times. It may be hiding a very real crime.

She hears about a young woman who vanished through a fairy circle five years earlier. Evie sees it as her big break. The deeper she digs, the more the fairy tale unravels, revealing secrets tied to the town’s Prohibition-era bootlegging past and to Jack, a quiet bartender whose kindness hides shadows of his own.

As warnings turn to threats, Evie must decide how far she’ll go for the truth.

Because this isn’t just about a missing woman. It’s about stories—whose get told, and how far Evie will go to make hers count.
