What’s this?

1755. The colonies are at war—and one man will risk everything to save his son. When merchant and militia captain Jonus Dunbar learns his boy has been kidnapped, he sets out through a frontier blazing with conflict. The trail leads to Shawtagh, a Delaware warrior sworn to destroy the Dunbar family.
Racing across hostile territory, Jonus joins forces with a battle-scarred Captain Colbert and a missionary friend who may not survive the journey. Ambushed by the Huron, betrayed by allies, and hunted by the French, Jonus faces captivity, fire, and impossible choices.

From war-torn forts to wilderness trails, from Benjamin Franklin’s experiments to George Whitefield’s revival fires, Jonus must fight not only for his son’s life—but for his own soul. An epic tale of courage, betrayal, and redemption set against the savage beauty and peril of the French and Indian War.
