What’s this?

Based on the true lives of Herbert and Mildred Noble (1910–1950). Morah Royal wakes in a strange pub with no memory of how she arrived — only the quiet certainty that she is waiting for someone.

At the bar of the Crosswind Station, somewhere between this world and the next, Jonah the bartender listens as Morah slowly pieces together a life: a marriage, a man, and forty years lived at full tilt. Through their conversations, we come to know Robbert and Morah Royal — their devotion, their hardships, and the bond that outlasted everything.

Sean Michael Thompson is a retired airline and United States Marine Corps pilot, now living among the reefs and skies of the Florida Keys.

I bought a home in Denton County, Texas, which sat on land that was once the Diamond M Ranch — named by Herbert Noble for his wife Mildred. I bought it from a ranch hand who had worked the Diamond M who related to me the story of the Nobles, firsthand.

It grabbed me and never let go.

Some stories find their teller. In Death We Do Not Part is my answer to a tale too true, and too extraordinary, to remain untold.
