What’s this?

Gaia is a quarantined world still reeling from a catastrophic magical plague known as Blight, unleashed decades ago by a galactic fugitive called Evil. Two-thirds of the planet’s population perished, and the survivors—humans, spirits, gods, monsters, and xenos—now struggle to coexist under fragile systems of order.

Sahara Swop wants to help rebuild what was lost. Newly appointed Director at Kry-Industries, she believes restoration, cooperation, and compassion are the path forward. But when her first major assignment leads her to uncover a murder, hidden agendas, and signs that Evil’s influence may not be gone, Sahara learns the world is far more dangerous than she was prepared for.

As political tensions rise and ancient powers stir, Sahara discovers she is one of the Golden One’s Champions—chosen to defend Gaia itself. Thrust into a role she never sought, she must decide how far she’s willing to step up to protect a fractured world standing on the brink of collapse.

Pumpkin Light is a speculative fiction writer based in Alaska, a lifelong storyteller, Batman enthusiast, and lover of the outdoors. After working in the health field in Anchorage and later moving to Homer, she spent sixteen years writing Gaia: Awakening in the quiet moments between work and responsibility. Dyslexic and self-taught, Pumpkin believes passion and persistence can turn dreams into reality. Her stories are rooted in the belief that kindness still matters—and that even in the darkest times, hope can bloom again.
