On a late-night drive home, timid Nicholas Fischer encounters the Mohawk spirit, the White Lady, who thrusts him back to 1834. There, he uncovers a plot to destroy the last Mohawk settlement and must choose whether he’ll step out into courage and risk his life or flee to safety. Please note: this book is over 120,000 words, so you will have three weeks to complete it, and the bonus will be £15.
On a late-night drive home from a dinner party, Nathan Wilson recalls a story to his wife about a childhood friend, Nicholas Fisher, who was mysteriously thrust from 1999 back to 1834 by the Mohawk spirit, The White Lady.
Timid Nicholas is forced to adapt to the new world of James Fenimore Cooper, in which he must battle past demons and the haunting, belittling voice of his father. While traveling the primitive Otsego County roads into the treacherous Mohawk Valley with the aid of Cooper’s daughter, Susan, and an escaped slave, Ezekiel, the trio uncovers a plot to decimate the last Mohawk settlement. With Kodah, a renegade Huron, and the traitorous businessman, Jonathan Sebastian, closing in, Nicholas must decide whether to flee or accept all that the Mohawk community has taught him about trust and courage.
