An infant is delivered to an Earth in torment. Guided by a woman woven into the fabric of a star ship the grown child is conjoined with a symbiotic organism. Aided by a strange horse and other exotic allies the young man is maneuvered into a running confrontation with the toxic fruit of an injudicious project. Please note: this book is over 120,000 words, so you will have three weeks to complete it, and the bonus will be £15.
A clinic embarks on an injudicious and illegal project. Part of the technology being used has given rise to a sisterhood of interstellar vehicles with human minds. One of these space faring personalities who had known of nightmare gestating failed to act. Her revulsion at the necessary collateral holocaust stayed her hand and in the arc of time her hesitance proved catastrophic. Left to atone for her omission she begins the slow process of exterminating the pestilence.
I am now retired. I was a scientific illustrator – 23 years at Scientific American and another 10 years, or so, illustrating (mostly chemistry) text books. My wife and I built a house in the woods; it turned into a forest. Our two boys left the woods but come back to visit the forest every so often. I’ve always loved to read. I remember when Dune first appeared in Analog magazine with the beautiful woodcut illustrations I was transported and ever since I’ve wanted to write. Now I have the time (when not beating back the forest).
