Near the end of World War II, four Air Force generals secretly profited by selling surplus warplanes meant for destruction. After their deaths, the last general’s three sons uncover clues to the hidden fortune and the corruption behind it. Their search spans continents, confronting danger and rivals, ultimately seeking truth, justice, and redemption for their family name and personal healing.
A story, based on actual events and people; my Fathers Air Force exploits at the end of WWII (1945) along with 3 other compatriots (owner of 21 Club in NY, owner of Air France, Mafia family in Chicago) assigned to destroy all remaining planes. Instead, they concoct a plot to sell the planes, covertly, stashing their gains all over Europe and beyond. Years later, the last General dies, and his 3 sons discover unmarked safe deposit keys which leads them around the world in search of “ill-gotten” treasures. The Air Force knows and wants their money back. The syndicate (Mafia) also finds out and wants their cut. The chase begins.
I am a retired CEO from Silicon Valley, living in Carmel CA. I grew up all over the world as an “air force brat”. I went to school in California, met my wife, worked at HP and Oracle, and retired to Carmel. My father led a prolific life as grad. of Julliard (Trumpet), played with Tommy Dorsey, joined the Air Force, married my mom, ran Wright Patterson air base (Strategic Air Command) and worked at “Area 51” (top secret base). I have been telling this story for over 30 years and decided to write this book (my first). Today, I am happily married with 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren, umpire for local baseball, golf, and love to ski.
