What’s this?

The year is 1263. Keirah MacThistlen, a fate-seer, knows Scotland is headed for war. She knows the King of Scots must be warned a violent storm is coming which will shape her countrymen’s lands forever. She knows the only way to see this done is by breaking free from the clutches of a Northman who stole her years earlier to use her foreshadows and has landed her back onto her native soil to unfairly battle her Highlanders.

Aonghus MacCade is a mercenary cast out from his clan after a noble deed gone wrong. He knows the King of Scots has tasked him with finding a traitor as the Kingdom of Scotland lays on the brink of war with the Northmen. He knows duty above all else.

Yet, when fate decides to crash Keirah and Aonghus together on a stormy night everything changes. Passions break free that may never be fulfilled or Keirah’s instinct of being a fate-seer is destroyed. For the fate-seer whose mind and spirit are sharp as a thistle will decide the Highland’s destiny, but can the star-crossed lovers find their own way, or will all be lost?

Heide Middlebrook writes historical romantasy and historical romance as an independent author. History captured her interest as a young girl after touring historical sites, then as a teenager a love for romance reading took root. Earning her career diploma in freelance writing led her to pen magazine articles, but it was an overwhelming desire to weave a love story occurring during a historical event that inspired her to pursue her dream of becoming a novelist. Why the romance genre? Those happily ever afters. Heide resides in south Florida with a herd of four legged friends, including one very opinionated cat.
