What’s this?

The British have occupied Boston for months, and Henry Eldridge’s prayers have finally been answered. For the sake of his eternal soul, he slips away from the home of his loyalist father, only to immediately find himself facing the terror of marching redcoats.

Left behind is Henry’s defiant sister, now isolated and desperate for connection. Mary longs to reach her brother or his best friend Ezekiel Brown, her bygone love, and must smuggle letters out of the city. If caught, she will face shame, deportation, or even the noose.

A war is just beginning. Trapped at a stalemate, the rebel army cannot drive out the British without cannons. While his sister wrestles with love and loneliness, Henry must lead an expedition into the wilderness, in a race to retrieve the guns capable of freeing her.

I live in Cleveland, Ohio with my wife and 1 year old son. This is my first novel. I’m drawn to immersive historical novels that illuminate life in the past, and I believe fiction can be exciting, escapist, and serious all at once.

We have closed this project early due to high demand.
