What’s this?

Will awakes one morning in 1508 to find English Border Reivers have stolen his family’s cattle, their means of survival. With his father bedridden and the “black blood” threatening his life, Will embarks on a perilous quest to retrieve what was taken. But instead of finding his cattle, he loses his fingers—and gains a burning desire for revenge.

On his journey, Will meets Mattie Glendenning, who tends to his wounds and captures his heart. As the Scottish Borderlands reel under the grip of violence, superstition, and the Archbishop Gavin Dunbar’s “Mother of all Curses,” Will must navigate a world where humor, horror, and love collide.
